Student Success Statement - 2/27/18

"I won't cheat" - Dale Murphy 

These three words are very important words to live by. It is important to understand the importance of these three simple words. Following this statement can lead to an honest, fruitful life. I know the impact these words can make beause I have seen how cheating can affect the person commiting the act and the people around them. Cheating can be as simple as looking at someone elses paper to something much bigger. Dale Murphy was a baseball palyer so he knew the importance of not cheating. Dale Murphy was an honest man. He won several of the games he played and did all of that without disobeying the rules of baseball. I have also lived an honest life, throughout my school years I have never cheated on my assignments and tests.  I also had never cheated on a softball game, when i was playing.

Student Success Statement - 3/23/2018

"My basic principle is that you don't make decisions because they are easy; you don't make them because they are cheap; you don't make them because they're popular; you make them because they're right." - Theodore Hesburgh  This quote is being said by former President of Notre Dame, Theodore Hesburgh. He is saying that all the decisions we make should be driven by the concept that the choice you are making is what is right. Many times people don't make decisions bcause it is the best choice but some people make them because it is what everyone else is doing. Just because everyone else is doing something it doesn't mean that it is automatically wrong, sometimes the popular choice is the best choice.  There have been many times when people have chosen something because it is popular and I don't think that is right. I feel like this quote is something many people should think about when making choices.

Optometry Technician Duties and Responsibilities: Optometry Technicians work as an assistant for an optometrist. They help them conduct tests and treatments. These technicians usually have a responsibility of testing a patients visual acuity, depth perception, pressure in the eye, color vision, and pupil reflexes. They do this to help the optometrist know what ind of treatment the patient will need.  Salary: An optometry technician makes about $30,000 and over. Educational Requirements: In order to become an optometry technician it is required you have a high school diploma, it is required you have completed training, and it is required to have an Associate's degree.  Demand for this career: This profession is expected to grow about 23% in the following years.  reflection: I think this job would be cool, i have seen this job firsthand and i think its interesting.
