President's Day is an American holiday celebrated on the third Monday in February. established in 1885 to remember George Washington, it is still officially called “Washington’s Birthday” by the federal government. Presidents’ Day is now popularly viewed as a day to celebrate all U.S. presidents past and present."
Presidents Day is celebrated on George Washingtons real birthday. George Washington's birthday is on February 22nd, therefore we celebrate President's Day on that day.
What are some ways to show honor and respect on President's Day?
Some ways you can show respect and honor the presidents are by writing a letter, spending the day to acknowledge and remember Presidents and you can also take the day off to recognize our past presidents.
How can I show respect on President's Day?
I can show respect on President's Day by researching the Presidents that have affected our country in a positive way and recognize the ones that havent. I can also write a letter to express my concerns to the sitting president of the USA.
