Topic: Los Angeles

I chose to talk about Los Angeles because I live in Los Angeles.
Los Angeles is a city in California. It is towards Southern California. Los Angeles is home of 88 smaller cities within Los Angeles. Also, around 9 sports teams are from Los Angeles. The sports teams are, the Anaheim Ducks, the Los Angeles Angels, the Los Angeles Chargers, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Los Angeles Dodgers, LA Galaxy, the Los Angeles Kings, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Los Angeles Rams. Also Los Angeles is a very interesting place. Did you know in 1982 oil was discovered where the Dodger Stadium now is. Other random facts are, it is illegal to lick a toad in Los Angeles. The Hollywood sign originally said "Hollywoodland" but was later shortened to just "Hollywood". Another big thing that Los Angeles is best known for is the beaches, the views, and the fashion filled cities. In Los Angeles there are OVER 15 beaches which include amazing sightseeing opportunities. Los Angeles is a great city. I am happy to live in this area of the world. I would not change it for anywhere else.

Optometry Technician Duties and Responsibilities: Optometry Technicians work as an assistant for an optometrist. They help them conduct tests and treatments. These technicians usually have a responsibility of testing a patients visual acuity, depth perception, pressure in the eye, color vision, and pupil reflexes. They do this to help the optometrist know what ind of treatment the patient will need. Salary: An optometry technician makes about $30,000 and over. Educational Requirements: In order to become an optometry technician it is required you have a high school diploma, it is required you have completed training, and it is required to have an Associate's degree. Demand for this career: This profession is expected to grow about 23% in the following years. reflection: I think this job would be cool, i have seen this job firsthand and i think its interesting.

Medical Career Path - 1/19/18

Pharmacy Technician 1. Duties and Responsibilities: A pharmacy technician is in charge of making sure patients understand the medicine they are receiving. They need to have a big understanding of all medical drugs. They need to be able to dispense the proper amount of medicine and have to understand what all of the medicines do. 2. Salary: A pharmacy technician makes over $30,000 yearly which equals to around $14 an hour. 3. Educational Requirements: In order to become a pharmacy technician you need to have a high school diploma. It is also recommended to have some kind of pharmacy technical school that you have attended. 4. Every year more and more pharmacies are being created, as the growth of pharmacies happen so does the need for pharmacy technicians. 5. Reflection: I think this would be an interesting job because i find medicines interesting and i would like to know more about them.

Student Success Statement - 1/31/18

"In life as in football, you won't go far, unless you know where the goalposts are." - Arnold H. Glasgow This quote, in other words, is talking about the importance of setting goals and knowing what exactly you are working towards. I agree with this because setting goals and acknowledging that you have goals is really motivating. I, for example, set goals for myself and work hard to meet all of them. Sometimes, i don't meet all the goals i expect myself to but that just motivates me to work harder. Last year, during 8th grade, i set multiple goals for myself. Some of them were, to get good grades, to complete all my work, and to make sure i am a great student. All of those grades were accomplished and i graduated with a high GPA and many of my teachers thanked me and awarded me for being such a great student.
