Eight Great Reasons to Tell the Truth

Barbara A Lewis
  1. Telling the truth lets everyone know what really happened. There's less chance of misunderstanding, confusion, or conflict.
  2. Telling the truth protects innocent people from being blamed or punished.
  3. Telling the truth allows everyone to learn from what happened.
  4. You usually get into less trouble for telling the truth other than lying (and getting caught)
  5. Other people trust you more when you tell the truth.
  6. You don't have to tell (and remember) more lies to keep your story straight
  7. You gain a reputation from being truthful - a trait most people value
  8. Telling the truth helps you to feel secure and peaceful inside.
All of these reasons are true in most cases. Honestly, if you have good values and were told at a young age that lying was wrong then you would not need to be reminded. I noticed number 2 talks about being honest about things to not harm the innocent and I think that is really important because  of all the black people that have been falsely accused based on what they look like. Also, black people were punished and they did not lie, they simply were human and looked different from the people that enslaved them. I believe that everyone should tell the truth, especially to themselves and people around them. It is important to be able to have someone to be able to truly talk to them and tell them how you feel about certain things. I would also like to point out that throughout Trumps presidency has has lied more times than told the truth. A president that lies is not fit to be president. Trump has lied about even the smallest things like his health, his doctor and himself both lied to make him seem a good weight amount when it really isnt true. I think everyone should not lie but in order for the people to not lie we need our fundamentals ot not lie, meaning our parents and people that guide us like teachers and presidents .

Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement "Enthusiasm makes the difference." - Dr. Norman Vincent Peale I agree and partially disagree with this. I agree because it is true. Being enthusiastic makes a big difference in the way you see things. Being enthusiastic makes you excited for things and that can help your mental health cope and become happier. I partially disagree though, because sometimes people can not be enthusiastic because they may be depressed or have another mental illness that makes them not feel enthusiastic. I feel like being enthusiastic makes me feel good. This year, i decided to become more enthusiastic. Ever since then i have looked at the positive things in life. I have been doing this for several months now and i feel happy and i think that has really improved my grades. I enjoy coming to school because i am very enthusiastic about it and want to succeed.
