Student Success Statement - 4/18/2018

"Its a great moment when someone has character to step up and do the right thing at the right time" - Pam Knox

I agree with this quote, it is really important to always do what is right. When doing the right thing, it doesnt necessarily mean to do a glorious and award winning thing. Doing the right thing is all about being conscious of your actions and doing the right thing without expecting anything in return. For example, the video of the softball players. They did not expect anything in return, they did not expect to win the game, they did not expect any prize for their actiosn. They helped out a person because it was the right hting. They did not have to, they could have left her there at first base and just waited for her to either be replaced or to slowly and painfully get to home plate for the full homerun. Instead of leaving her there, they did what was right. They helped her, they helped a person they had been playing against and could've ruined their chances of winning. They did not let their wanting to win get in the way of being a good person. They carried the girl to home plate so she could get her first and last home run of her career, which was ended due to that injury.

"What's right isn't always popular. What's popular isn't always right." - Albert Einstein I agree with this quote. I agree with this quote because it is true. It is true because many times people get the wrong impression about certain things just because many people are doing it. Making good decisions is very important and i understand that at times it is harder to make good decisions because maybe a group of your friends isn't making bad choices. This quote is telling me that good choices aren't always made by people but it is important for your sake that you choose the right regardless of if anyone is making the same choice.

Student Success STatement - 5/10/2018

"I would prefer even to fail with honor than win by cheating." - Sophicles  This quote is a quote that quotes that it is better to lose  honestly than win dishonestly. I think that this quote is true, but how do we know if Sophicles actually said this? I often wonder about that with some of the quotes. This quote can be talking about almost anything, it could be talking about a race, a baseball game, basketball, a horse race, or a wrestling match. This quote can be used even when not talking about a sport or competition. The simple act of doing a test or your homework has opportunities to cheat because cheating can be done at any time and in any way. The idea that winning is the most important thing is false, the most important thing is being honest and letting the person that is truly the best, be the best and win without using things to enhance their performance. This quote demonstrates havign good values and how to accept that sometimes we dont win, but if we were hones...
